Colleen Stewart M.S., CCC-SLP is an ASHA certified speech-language pathologist. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and her Masters of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology from the University Of Tennessee-Health Science Center. Colleen relocated back to her hometown of Nashville from Charlotte, North Carolina in the fall of 2014.
Colleen worked in Charlotte, NC for several years serving children in a multi-disciplinary private clinic, a therapy based day school and various private schools. She has worked with children with a wide range of disabilities including but not limited to Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, auditory processing disorders, expressive and receptive language impairments, apraxia of speech, articulation/phonological disorders, and swallowing/feeding disorders. She has also worked with those who have suffered from stroke and brain injury. Colleen enjoys working in a pediatric multi-disciplinary environment which allows her the ability to collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists and music therapists. She believes in a child-centered approach to therapy, focusing on results and family education and individualizing each treatment plan for the child and their family. Colleen has a passion for helping children of all ages to communicate and eat more effectively.
Colleen is certified in the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) feeding approach and More Than Words®-The Hanen Program® for Parents of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Colleen recently bought a house in Nashville with her husband, Josh. In her spare time, she enjoys trying new restaurants, boating, spending time with her family, cooking, and gardening.
